Ilil Arbel is a writer and editor, and has a Ph.D. in the field of mythology and folklore. She has written: The Lemon Tree, published by iUniverse, a true story of her family’s journey from Siberia to Tel-Aviv in 1919.  Maimonides: A Spiritual Biography, published by Crossroad Publishing, the life story of the great philosopher. The Cinnabar box, a fantasy for pre-teens, published by virtualbookworm. Witchcraft, a high-school curriculum-enrichment book about Wicca's historical development and connection to ecology and the life sciences, published by PPI Publishing and currently also available as a free e-book on http://www.pantheon.org/.

Ilil is associated with Encyclopedia Mythica, an on-line, award-winning encyclopedia of mythology and folklore. She regularly contributes articles for the areas of Judaic Myth and Folktales, and responds to numerous readers’ inquiries in these subjects.  Ilil also works for LexisNexis Publishing, where she creates and maintains the indices for medical, medico-legal, and legal books. She has also created the index for Jewish Law, by M. Elon, retired Deputy President of the Supreme Court of Israel and professor at NYU. Previously, she worked for the scientific and medical publishing fields, including Scientific American Magazine, Medicom International Publishing, Phodyne Technologies, Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, Lasers in Medical Science, and The British Journal of Cancer. At that time she also created several botanical and horticultural books for Dover Publications’ Pictorial Archives. She regularly contributed articles and educational materials to various science and health publications, including a series of illustrated articles to Science Probe Magazine.  Ilil lived and studied in Tel-Aviv, Paris, and New York, and currently resides in ManhattanShe is a member of the American Socity of Indexers and The Association of Personal Historians.
